The 2006 IS&T/SPIE Conference on Human Vision and Electronic Imaging

The 2006 IS&T/SPIE Conference on Human Vision and Electronic Imaging (January 16-18, 2006) is fast approaching.

The Human Vision and Electronic Imaging Banquet, will be held Monday night, January 16th at 7:30 pm, in the Sainte Claire room of the award-winning Il Fornaio restaurant, 302 South Market Street, located right next to the Conference Center. This year's speaker will be JACK TUMBLIN from Northwestern University. His title is: "RETHINKING PHOTOGRAPHY: DIGITAL DEVICES TO CAPTURE APPEARANCE.

To sign up in advance, please fax the PDF form (to be found at the HVEI conference website: www.ece.northwestern.edu/~pappas/hvei) to the IS&T by 5:00 pm Wednesday EST, with your credit card information. The cost for this gourmet Italian feast will be $60.

*** Keynote Session:
The Keynote Session (Monday) includes presentations by Brian Wandell (Stanford University) on "Computational Neuroimaging: Maps and Tracks in the Human Brain" and Mary Hayhoe (University of Rochester) on "Learning Where to Look."

*** Special Session in Honor of Larry Stark:
Laurent Itti has organized a special session on "Eye Movements, Visual Search, and Attention: A Tribute to Larry Stark" (Monday afternoon), featuring scientists in human vision and electronic imaging who have been influenced by Larry's work.

*** Special Session on Brain Imaging:
Stan Klein has organized a special session on "Imaging of Cortical Visual Processes and Structures" (Wednesday afternoon).
