SYMBIONIC Course on “Methods, Data Handling and Standards in Neuronal Systems Biology”

Lay Line Genomics and the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA/ISAS) in Trieste, Italy have scheduled a course on "Methods, Data Handling and Standards in Neuronal Systems Biology" which will take place in Trieste, August 31 – September 3 2005, within the training activities of the SYMBIONIC project (www.symbionicproject.org)

In this course both lectures and hands-on computer sessions will be held. These will focus on methods to produce high- and medium-throughput experimental data, on tools to analyse and integrate the same data into models describing intracellular and membrane processes occurring in neurons, and on standardized “languages” in which the data can be outputted or translated to make it more readable and exploitable by the scientific community. The course is targeted to graduate and post-graduate students and researchers from different backgrounds (neuroscience, cell biology, computer science, bioinformatics, and more).

Registration to the course is now open, and applications should be received no later than June 15th 2005.
